An November Meetup for Data + AI Builders

Why I am gathering data professionals worldwide to build Data + AI applications together in November, what the session will actually cover, and how to put your name on the interest list.

Most data professionals I speak to are in the same position. They know the platforms, they know the modelling, and they have a list of ideas that would genuinely help someone at work. What they do not have is a short, honest path from the idea to a working application that a colleague can open. That gap is the reason for this meetup.

The plan is a session in November for data professionals anywhere in the world who want to build Data + AI applications rather than only discuss them. The timing will be chosen so that people across time zones can actually attend, which is why the interest form asks for your location, your time zone and which session window suits you. Those answers decide the schedule; I would rather fit the session around the people who show up than announce a time and hope.

The shape of the session follows how these applications get built in practice. Start from a real problem someone has today. Decide which application pattern it is — whether people need to discover something, decide something, be assisted through work, understand a system, investigate a case, or predict an outcome. Work out the smallest version worth building first. Then build that version and look at it honestly.

What I want to avoid is a demo that only works because the data was arranged in advance. The interesting part of a Data + AI application is always the part where the data is incomplete, the users disagree, or the model is confident about something wrong. Those are the moments worth spending a session on, and they are the moments most talks skip.

The interest form also asks what you are hoping to build. That is the most useful field on the page, because it lets me shape the session around real problems from the people attending instead of a generic agenda. If enough people bring similar problems, we can work through one end to end together.

If this sounds like your kind of session, add your name on the meetup page. You will get a confirmation straight away, and the details — date, time and joining link — come by email once the schedule is set from the responses. No volume, no newsletter: just the meetup details and anything directly useful that follows from it.

Put the lesson to work.
